Q: How do I locate the preset combination for the 1500iEURD and then reset the combination?

A:

The instruction sheet is located inside the packaging, in a drawer behind the plastic card. Use a pair of scissors to cut through the packaging and access the leaflet. The preset combination code is located on the upper right side of the instruction sheet.

To set your own combination:

  1. You can set your combination to any pattern of any length. For extra security, it is best to create a longer combination
  2. using several of the up, down, left and right positions. FOLLOW INSTRUCTIONS EXACTLY!
  3. Dial the combination to open the lock. Keep the lock open.
  4. On the back of the lock, use a pointed object to slide the reset lever into the "up" position (toward the "R").
  5. SQUEEZE THE SHACKLE FIRMLY TWICE TO CLOSE THE LOCK AND "CLEAR" IT.
  6. Pull up the shackle to open the lock.
  7. Enter your new combination. Write your new code down in a safe place.
  8. SLIDE THE RESET LEVER DOWN.
  9. Insert the shackle into the lock and squeeze firmly.
  10. Your lock will now open with the new combination.

To reset the combination again, repeat steps 1 - 8.
Remember to squeeze the shackle firmly toward the lock twice and release to "clear" the lock each time before opening it.

Q: What extra steps should I take to deter theft using my safe product?

A:

Depending on the Master Lock safe model you select, it will provide a varying level of security for its contents. Master Lock fire and water resistant Security Digital Combination Safe or Alarm Safe provide protection and security from theft, fire and flood. Master Lock Keyed or Digital Combination Safes as well as Compact Safes provide theft protection.

However, no safe is theft-proof. With the right tools, skill and time, any safe can be opened. For greater security and additional protection against theft:

- Always keep your safe closed and locked when not in use.
- Do not share your code/combination, or keep them near the safe.
- Do not tell anyone where the safe is located (except the fire department in the event of a fire).
- Do not put the empty safe carton out with your trash. Cut it into pieces and discard.
- Place your safe with the hinge away from the wall and the door opening next to the wall. This makes it harder to pry the door open.
- If possible, conceal your safe.
- You may bolt your safe to the floor or wall, depending on the model you've selected.

Q: My strap / bungee is cut / torn / nicked, what do I do?

A:

Straps / bungees should be rejected if they show any sign of damage.
The following criteria are considered to be signs of damage :
- If there is any accidental contact with chemical products.
- For web lashings and cords: tears, cuts, nicks and breaks in load bearing resulting from exposure to heat.
- For end fittings and tensioning devices: deformations, splits, pronounced signs of wear, signs of corrosion.

Q: I bought a TSA-accepted padlock that has been cut during my travel, how can I get a new product?

A:

We appreciate your feedback and apologize for your inconvenient experience with this product. Indeed, your padlock is a TSA-accepted model so it is likely that the TSA screener may not have been adequately trained to recognize the red and white diamond logo on the lock.
We can submit a notice to the TSA and we would like the following information to complete the claims process.
These infomation will be sent to our licensor, Travel Sentry, and they will address the incident with the screener authority at the airport where the lock was cut.
• Date of travel:
• Name of departure airport:
• Airline, flight #, time of flight:
• Did the TSA place a "Notification of Baggage inspection" inside the bag (Y/N):
We would also like to replace the lock for you, so please confirm the model by number or photo.

"I lost the key to my Master Lock padlock keeping my flagpole lowering mechanism locked. I decided that I would go down to my local hardware store and borrow their bolt cutters. I BROKE THEIR BOLT CUTTERS trying to cut the lock! Haha! Talk about one tough lock!"

"We have 3 ATV's secured to a trailer with chains & Master Locks. Thieves worked with bolt cutters & prybars, but were unable to get them opened. We were very surprised and disturbed that someone tried to take our machines, but very pleased that our decision to use Master Locks saved them. The locks really stood up to the would-be thieves' attempts. THANK YOU for a great product! Sincerely, Frozen Lake Racing, Mazomanie, WI. 53560."

"For school we needed a gym locker lock and I had the one where you reset the lock by moving the wheels on the red markers. At the end of the year my gym teacher said "If you don't take your locks home, we will cut them off and take what's inside the locker." Unfortunately for them, I had a Master Lock and they couldn't cut it off with bolt cutters! So they had to call me over to the school to remove the lock."

"Today I visited the Gold's Gym. I had been leaving my stuff in one of the lockers and secured it with a hardened Master Lock combination lock. When about to leave I noticed 2 bolt cutter marks where someone tried to cut the lock in half but without success. They couldn't cut thru it. Amazing lock! My hat's off to Master Lock."

"Many people buy insurance hoping they'll never need to use it. In some ways, my purchase of your Model #6121 was similar. Your product exceeded my expectations in that it truly prevented loss of my property. While I "hoped" my property wouldn't be stolen, your lock "made sure" that it wasn't."
— David @ Janesville, WI   Full Story
"The shed was burglarized not only once but twice within one week! Although the burglars ultimately managed to enter the shed by using a crow bar to pry off the hasp, the lock fared in much better shape! I was very impressed at the inability of the burglars to pry, cut, or in any way break the lock! Fantastic product that we will recommend to anyone!"

"U think a Master Lock isn't strong? Some thieves tried to drill out a lock on a gangbox at work with my tools in it one night after work. The bit had broke off while"

"The next morning I found that someone had tried to break into the truck. They apparently tried to use bolt cutters to cut through the shackle. I don't know how long they spent working at it, but judging from the number of scratches on the shackle they must have spent some considerable effort. As you can probably guess, the amount of progress they made was pathetic. They would have been better off trying to cut a hole in the side of the truck."

"...as I write this,I have that lock sitting on my desk with part of the shipping container door still attached to it!!! It was so hard to open the lock that they cut the container open around it. I'm upset that I was burglarized, but smiling at the same time as I picture these fools beating on this lock till blue in the face only to have to start over with plan B. I would have paid to watch them in the middle of the California desert (115 degree heat) beating on that lock! Thanks for letting me share my story."

"The Master Lock with hardened shackle is the boss in my book of the World’s Best. Just recently someone had tried to break into my work shed and they unsuccessfully used bolt cutters to cut the Master Lock. I use the 4 pack for the convenience of one key and this lock saved me THOUSANDS OF $$ in losses. Thank You Master Lock, for making me safe."
